(San Diego State University) More than 70 percent of a random sample of tweets analyzed appear to have been produced by bots, whose use to influence public opinion while posing as real people is coming under increased scrutiny. Findings appear in "'Okay, We Get It. You Vape': An Analysis of Geocoded Content, Context, and Sentiment regarding E-Cigarettes on Twitter." It is one of the first known studies to rely on geocoded tweets to investigate perceptions of e-cigarettes.
