UTEP to facilitate initiative to increase number of hispanics in computing with $10 million grant

(University of Texas at El Paso) The University of Texas at El Paso, with a consortium of more than 40 other institutions and organizations from the public and private sector, is at the forefront of a national effort to increase the number of Hispanic students in computing. The work will be led by Ann Gates, Ph.D., professor and chair of UTEP's Department of Computer Science, who recently was named a recipient of a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant worth $9,900,000.
