Empowered employees are more proactive -- even when they don't trust their leader

(Frontiers) New research confirms that employees with empowering leaders are more proactive -- and, for the first time, shows that this effect occurs by increasing employee confidence to undertake tasks beyond the job description. The researchers elaborate a model that explains why, and when, empowering leadership can promote proactivity in the workplace, and provide suggestions for managers and organizations.
