Shorter life expectancy linked to 2016 presidential election outcome

(Columbia University Irving Medical Center) A new study at Columbia found that changes in life expectancy may have influenced voting choices in the 2016 presidential election, with Republicans making gains in counties that had 2.5 times more deaths from suicide, alcohol, and overdose.
