(University of Michigan Health System) Michigan's expansion of Medicaid health insurance coverage has boosted the state's economy and budget, and will continue to do so for at least the next five years, according to a new study. The expansion's total economic impact will generate more than enough funds for the state to cover its share of the program's cost, as well as creating more than 30,000 new jobs and about $2.3 billion in personal spending power every year.
