(American Geriatrics Society) In a new study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, researchers examined the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), an evidence-based treatment plan developed in the 1990s to prevent hospitalized older adults from developing delirium. They wanted to learn how effective it was at preventing older people from being readmitted to the hospital within 30 days, which is often harmful for patients and costly for hospitals.
