(University of Arizona) In a new study presented during the 41st annual Association for the Study of Higher Education conference, University of Arizona researcher Nolan L. Cabrera set out to understand the complexities associated with white male identity. Interviewing more than 60 college-age white males, he found that such individuals generally disassociate whiteness as an identity, lack cultural awareness and downplay issues related to race.
