(NORC at the University of Chicago) People with an inheritance are more than twice as likely as those without one to feel prepared for retirement (38 percent vs. 17 percent), according to a new survey of Americans age 50 or older from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. The survey also found that 56 percent think it is an adult child's responsibility to provide financial assistance to a parent if needed.
