Ideology is not main factor that pushes children to join terrorist groups

(United Nations University) Counter-terror efforts based on the assumption that children recruited into extremist groups are motivated by ideology are unlikely to be effective, and could even backfire, concludes a two-year research project led by the United Nations University.
