(University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre (CRCHUM) ) A diet high in saturated fat causes, in addition to obesity and metabolic changes associated with a prediabetic state, anxiodepressive and compulsive behaviors. All of these effects were show to be tied to inflammation in the nucleus accumbens, a region of the brain that controls mood and reward. This is revealed by a new study conducted by a team from the CHUM Research Center (CRCHUM) and the Université de Montréal, published in Molecular Metabolism.
