(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) MIT neuroscientists have found that using flickering light to stimulate gamma oscillations in the brain has widespread effects on neurons and immune cells called microglia. This treatment reduces inflammation, enhances synaptic function, and protects against cell death in mice that are genetically programmed to develop Alzheimer's disease.
