(University of Cologne) A new study has found that fruit flies lacking the transcription factor Ets21c live longer in a favourable, unstressed environment, but die earlier under stress. This serves as a promising lead that stress signalling pathways in which Ets-type transcription factors are involved may govern renewal in human epithelial tissues.
