But research on how those injuries happen, who's most likely to suffer or die from one, or what steps would prevent them, has lagged behind research on other causes of death. Now, as more researchers and funders appear interested in pediatric firearm injury research, a team of experts has published the most pressing questions and called for studies to address them.
