First cell-type census of mouse brains: Surprises about structure, male-female differences

(Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory) Neuroscientists at CSHL have mobilized advanced imaging and computational methods to comprehensively map -- 'count' -- the total populations of specific types of cells throughout the mouse brain. In a study published today in Cell, they report two highly surprising findings regarding distribution fo cell types across the brain as well as male-female brain differences.
