Can stress testing and biomarker studies predict cardiovascular event risk in older women?

(Mary Ann Liebert, Inc./Genetic Engineering News) Mayo Clinic researchers, reporting results of the SMART study, have shown that abnormal results on a stress electrocardiogram are an independent predictor of cardiovascular events such as heart attack, heart failure, hospitalization for chest pain, and death in perimenopausal or menopausal women.
